California encourages all school children to access at-home COVID-19 testing as they return to school following the holiday break. To facilitate testing, CDPH is providing free rapid tests for each K–12 public school student and has provided some important information for parents on how to test, what to do if your child tests positive and how to report your results.

Workers who are providing services that are critical to infrastructure operations including healthcare, energy, defense and agriculture.
Those who are at risk for disparate access to healthcare because of economic, health, or social inequities including homeless shelters, community and faith-based organizations.
Where an immediate and localized response is needed including wildfires/PSPS, virus outbreaks, community health surveillance, back-to-school baseline testing events and pre-graduation events.
Housing facilities where residents are cared for in shared living spaces including long-term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities and residential care facilities.
