Past work · 2022–2023: Primary Health Pass mobile app
A companion app that put at-home test reporting in people’s pockets, connected to the same records as the Primary.Health platform.
- Partner
- Schools and organizations running OTC and at-home testing programs
- When
- 2022–2023
- What we built
- A companion mobile app to report at-home test results in under a minute, view result history, and update vaccination status
- Outcome
- Retired. At-home result reporting continues in the Primary.Health web platform
This program has concluded. It’s kept here as an example of our work.
The problem
At-home tests were everywhere. Their results weren’t.
As over-the-counter tests became the most common way people tested, schools and testing programs lost sight of most results. Reporting a test meant finding a link, filling in a web form, and remembering to do it at all.
Primary Health Pass was a mobile companion to the Primary.Health platform that made reporting a habit. Results went into the same record that programs already used, whether they were added in the app or on the web.
How it worked
Three screens, under a minute

Report a test
A guided, step-by-step flow walked people through their test kit’s instructions and captured the result.

See your status
A dashboard showed the latest result and vaccination status, including booster doses.

Keep a history
Every result in one timeline, whether it was self-reported in the app or added on the web.
What carried forward
The workflow outlived the app
The Primary Health Pass app is no longer available for download. What we learned building it lives on in the platform: simple, guided self-reporting in people’s own language, results that land in one shared record, and programs that can see what’s happening without chasing paper.
