FAQ

Common questions

Is Primary.Health HIPAA compliant? Is it HITRUST certified?

Yes. Primary.Health is HITRUST certified and HIPAA compliant. Access is role based and follows least-privilege principles, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Security documentation is available in our Trust Center.

Do you connect to state immunization registries?

Yes. We maintain bidirectional connections with immunization registries: doses are written back to the state immunization information system automatically, the same day, and records are reconciled from registries nationwide.

Which public health labs are already connected?

20 California public health laboratories, including the CDPH Viral and Rickettsial Disease Laboratory in Richmond. 12 of them exchange orders and results in both directions. We hold a business associate agreement and contract with each lab, and integrate across Apollo, Orchard, Epic Beaker, STARLIMS, and Clinisys.

Do you integrate with EHRs and lab systems?

Yes. Immunization workflows run inside the EHR through Vim and the major EHR app ecosystems, including Epic. LabConnect integrates with your LIMS or LIS and exchanges electronic orders and results.

Can residents use it in their own language?

Yes. Registration, reminders, and results are available in 23 languages.

Is Primary.Health a public health or a commercial organization?

We’re a company, Primary Diagnostics, Inc., doing business as Primary.Health. We started as volunteers supporting UCSF researchers in spring 2020 and build shared infrastructure for public health, health systems, and schools.

How do we evaluate Primary.Health?

Talk to our team. We’ll walk through your program, show the platform on your workflows, and share security documentation and references from health departments we’ve worked with. The readiness check is a quick way to see where you stand today.

Ready before the next emergency.

Pick your partner on a calm timeline with real due diligence, not in the first week of a crisis.
